POSITION SUMMARY:
The purpose of the outside sales position in Southern Cook County is to provide sales and support to the Caterpillar products. The salesperson is to sell & Rent Caterpillar General Line Construction Products carried by Altorfer. Moreover, develop new business while maintaining current customer accounts while executing the company’s policies and procedures.
Basic Duties:
PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Maintain sales in Southern Cook while reaching or exceeding the personal sales goals set by the Tractor Division.
  • Create sales opportunities while maintaining current Altorfer customers.
  • Setting regional marketing plans to penetrate the surrounding areas.
  • Must be willing to take occasional sales calls after hours.
  • Must be willing to call on customers out in the field.
  • Organize and execute sales files, warranties, product rebates and financial documentation.
  • Predictable and regular attendance is required.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reports to the Sales Manager.
  • This position does not require supervision of staff.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience – Five years of relative outside sales experience is required for the position.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Communication – Must handle incoming sales calls and face-to-face customer interactions thru product quotations and sales call procedures.
  • Computer Skills – Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have the ability to learn Caterpillar & Company software.
  • Organizational – Must be well organized, proficient in time management and work well with both tractor personal and Altorfer employees
  • Personal Management – Must work with the department to reach the goals set by management and follow all company policies.
